Medieval (4).png

If you are new to the hub then it is important that we welcome you to one of our favorite segments, the #PickOfTheWeek . Here we feature four amazing writers from instagram and talk about why we loved their piece.

farmto table (1)

This piece by Folajin Temitope is wisdom. Many times we are allow our faults and flaws restrict us from greatness. We remind ourselves of our imperfections and give them the power to cripple us. Not anymore.

farmto table (4).png

Trust us when we say we were tempted to smile on this one. Be careful what you wish for though, you just may realize that you couldn’t handle it. ‘

farmto table (3)

First, we’d like to say thank you @rockcalvary for lending your voice to this cause and raising awareness about it. This post reveals one of the major reasons why rape happens in the society. Trusting the wrong people.

When the writer of this particular piece sent us a message on instagram, we knew we had to feature her work. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you for capturing some of the amazing qualities of the black person.

#PickOfTheWeek – Is this love?

Medieval (6).jpg

Hey Sparkle Writers and welcome to another amazing #PickOfTheWeek segment on the blog today.

We are super excited to show you what we’ve got partly because we are featuring new writers! The other reason will be revealed later.

Here they are.

farmto table (3)

The first is by Anita and you can tell that it was one of the posts that inspired today’s title. What do you call this, love?

farmto table (2)

This one is everything and should be the reply you give if you’re being taken for granted on the account of love. Love should not make you loose your mind. You should know when you’re not being treated right.

farmto table (1) We love, love love this one. Many times, whether in love or everyday life some of us miss some great things because we have a fixated mindset of how things are supposed to play out. It doesn’t always happen that way.

farmto table Thank you scribbling introvert for this. Sometimes love is so deep that you look for different ways to express it.

#PickOfTheWeek- Love and it’s piercing consequences

Hey Sparkle Writers, you already know we love to see you here Let’s get to the #PickOfTheWeek, we know you want to know what posts we loved this week and why . Well here they are!

farmto table (3)

We see a lot of posts on love and we decided to give them special attention. The first one definitely made us think. Why would he say those love stories were not theirs? Could that be true or did he say it out of anger and hurt?

farmto table

The next post did get us thinking too, or maybe we felt a little bad for the writer. Silence from a loved one can be painful and is something no one wants to experience.

farmto table (2) Jummy Ipinlaye speaks the truth on this one. Wounds that are covered love related or not never heal well.

farmto table (1)Finally! Something to smile about right? This post describes love using music. Love can make your heart sing and the one who loves you so will love to listen to every note, and chord it plays.

#PickOfTheWeek – Depth cannot be faked

Hey Sparkle Writers! Today’s title for our #PickOfTheWeek segment is inspired by one of the posts for today. We fell in love with it instantly and couldn’t agree more.

Let us know which pick resonates with you.

farmto table (4).png This is our first pick of the week and we could not have said it any better. When you try to pretend to be something you are not it eventually shows and you’d realize that staying true to yourself would have been better, In whatever you do avoid being fake.

Thank you Ikimi for this.

farmto table (3) What does your pen do for you? To many writers and poets the pen is a powerful  tool that helps them create their own world

farmto table (2)Akin Daves has a beautiful imagination. We love how he described our memories and our realities. Both are important, beautiful and should be treasured.

farmto table (1)This is a known fact but sometimes it is best to remind ourselves. You cannot successfully love others if you don’t love yourself.

#PickOfTheWeek – It’s the little things

Medieval (1)

We have four brilliant writers on today’s #PickOfTheWeek and each of them focused on seemingly small issues that have weighty consequences.

farmto table (4)

Adenike Bamigbade talks about something that which although doesn’t happen all the time can bring an indescribable amount of joy! No traffic on Lagos roads. Who else agrees with her? Truly these little things do matter.

farmto tableDunsin is a fine writer who has a way with words. Here she describes writing in a unique way using rather mundane objects to illustrate, farmto table (1) A write to Love always gives a fresh insight about love and everything that has to do with it. This is a fine way of explaining love in its truest and most sacrificial form

farmto table (5)

We have never thought about the word crush like this before. Our writers are truly detailed people. But do you agree that it shatters like this? Don’t some graduate into true love?

#PickOfTheWeek- Life is not always what you expect

Hey Sparkle Writers! It is another Tuesday morning and we have four amazing writers to feature.  Are you ready?

farmto table (2)

The first post questions the status quo. Many times love is painted in a certain way and attached to certain feelings. What if we never experience love , what if the hurt from past relationships is too much to bear? Thank you Hannah for this beautiful piece.

farmto table (1)This post is everything! Loving yourself is undoubtedly one of the most important attributes and when you need to walk away from toxic situations please do without looking back farmto table Time is truly powerful! Sometimes it is the distance between what we want and what is happening now. All we can do is to wait for it to run its course.

farmto table (4) We laughed the first time we saw this! Unexpected but is definitely a possibility. How would you react if someone told you that all these while they’d been lying to you?

#PickOfTheWeek – Go for it

Medieval (3).png

Hey there Sparkle Writers! Who’s ready for our #PickOfTheWeek?  Four amazing pieces will be featured again.

Yetunde has been on our #WriterSpotlight and we learnt a lot so you can tell that featuring her today is going to be pretty inspiring. She said something pretty simple but direct. If you want something then go for it! That’s how it works.

farmto table (1)Kintola sure brought her A-game on with this post. Like why do we have to wait for people to celebrate an validate us before we feel good about yourself and work? Give yourself a standing ovation and continue. farmto table (2)We’d give you one reason why we love this particular piece even though there are many reasons. We strongly believe you don’t need anyone to complete you. Zafeerah outlined this properly.farmto table (3) Sometimes you beat yourself  up over the little mistakes you make but the point is you’re still making progress.  Some others aren’t even making effort. You are definitely on the right path just don’t stop. farmto table

#PickOfTheWeek – Love from different perspectives

Hey Sparkle Writers, we are so glad to feature another set of amazing pieces on today’s PickOfTheWeek segment.

As usual we select articles from four writers on instagram and we talk about what makes them special. Ready for today’s feature?

farmto table (1) This piece is by our own Dunsin Sanya and she’s serving the truth hot! Too many writers dream of becoming published, dream of writing for international platforms but never do the work.

farmto table We’ve not featured Jamila before but we love how she described what lovers feel anytime they see someone they love. Do you feel this way too?

farmto table (4).png

Rock Calvary reiterated this by telling us how terrible life without love can be, Full of choas because many of our actions right now are done out of love, love for family, love for our work, our passion and many others.

farmto table (3) The love of a mother. So strong, so powerful and so sacrificial. Thank you so much Ufoma for this beautiful piece.

#PickOfTheWeek – Not seeking validation

Medieval (4)

Hey Sparkle Writers, welcome to another #PickOfTheWeek segment.  Writers are truly amazing people and the level of wisdom potryed in the posts are encouraging. Today we have four amazing writers.

Let us know what post you loved most.

farmto table How many of us agree that no matter how negative the comments we recive are, we should not at any time let them get to us. This may be hard but if we can make up our mind that no amtter the negativity we’d continue we will realize that they will in the end celebrate us.  farmto table (1) Do you know why we love this post? Because we know for a fact that it is true. Many of us sometimes get confused on what is and is not good for us and the truth is that sometimes the person you want does not deserve you.  Thank you Elo Osiki for the reminder.

farmto table (3) How easy is it to point accusing fingers at others when we are also doing the same thing or maybe even worse. Thank you Kolade Afolabi for the reminder.

farmto table (4).png Henrietta is a new writer on our   PickOfTheWeek segment and this post is everything! We cannot give what we don’t have .  Before you can become the one to someone else you must the the one to yourself. You must see yourself as important and valuable

PickOfTheWeek – Hope when it seems impossible

Medieval (4)

How do you feel when you have literally given up on something happening and in the midst of that dark cloud, a silver lining shows up?

How do you feel? Probably pure joy.

That’s one of the feelings a writer described on today’s PickOfTheWeek . We hope you love this week’s articles.

The first is by rockcalvary and we love this post because it captures the realities of our heart when people we term as important don’t see us the same way. Has this ever happened to you?

farmto tableLove makes people say stuff though. When we saw this post we didn’t know what to make of it but then we understand that the promise of forever means a lot to people. What have you said or done in the name of love?

farmto table (3)

The next post is for those who usually wait for inspiration to do work that has to be done. It is easy to wait to feel like doing work but it is not ideal. We honestly have nothing else to add. Thank you Oluwadara for this. farmto table (2) The last piece for today struck a chord and if you read our introductory post, you’d understand what we mean. Sometimes all we need is a little light at the end of the tunnel. farmto table (1)
